Arte Apotista
As you can see Apotist artwork stand in the Nagarika Canon, whose graphic version is reduced to a geometric figure, just a parallelogram, a rectangle, divided into departments, each one have a specific meaning regardless of the formal expression; an imaginary vertical line at the center of the diagram divides the departments one from another, right and left. In addition there is a division into horizontal upper and lower departments, separated by an imaginary horizontal line that passes through the center. The departments of the horizontal section are equal to those of the vertical division and rotate all around the center created by the intersection between the horizontal and vertical lines. As already said, each of these planes has a specific meaning independently from its formal expression.
The meanings of the fields in the right area match those of the eastern hemisphere and those of the left area to the western hemisphere. Horizontally, the upper part of the diagram corresponds to the diurnal hemisphere while the lower scheme responds to the nocturnal hemisphere. These divisions are calculated in a geocentric sense, but those areas that are close to the virtual center, without losing the geocentrical character take some aspect of the heliocentric one until the virtual center that is exclusively heliocentric.
In summary, the meanings of the areas are: those located in the Eastern Hemisphere (the right side of the diagram) among others have the meanings of diurnal, masculinity, action, principle, origin ... while sectors places in the Western Hemisphere (the left of the diagram) take the meanings of nocturnal, femininity, passivity, .. and all the opposite meanings attributed to the eastern sector. As for the areas located on the horizontal plane, daytime hemisphere belong to the meanings of diurnal, light, external manifestation, rise, the future ... while opposite character are the meanings of the nocturnal hemisphere (the bottom of the diagram).
The meanings of the fields are not always "pure" as those of the lateral zones will from time to time take places in the upper or lower zone of the scheme and the same for the meaning of the horizontal sectors that will be placed at the right or the left side. For example, if a section of the right side area is located in the diurnal hemisphere, the meanings of this "vertical" position, will be "colored" by those of the "horizontal" one, so that the specific meaning will be exalted by the similarity and correspondence between the first and second. Conversely, if a section of the right side area is to be located in the lower part of the scheme, the meanings tend to become weak. In the center of the diagram the meanings attain the maximum relief and result to be the driving force of all the others.
